The Convergence Chronicles

Historical Timeline

From the First Resonance to the sealed Black Stratum mystery.

HISTORICAL TIMELINE v1 — THE CONVERGENCE CHRONICLES

Before Humanity — The First Resonance

The Deep Order predates humanity. Hundreds of millions of years ago Earth experienced an enormous increase in interaction between physical reality and the Deep Order. Zam eventually discovers impossible geological anomalies from this era, including the Black Stratum.

~300,000 BCE onward — The Human Variable

Human symbolic thought, moral reasoning, language, promises, deception and awareness of mortality create new ways for the Deep Order to manifest. Human consciousness did not create the Deep Order, but conscious choice gives it new avenues into physical reality.

The Mythic Age

Civilizations interpret manifestations as gods, spirits, demons, saints and monsters. Different names do not necessarily indicate different entities, and identical names do not guarantee the same entity.

The Iranian Revelation

Ancient Iranian religious traditions develop unusually sophisticated language for principles associated with Asha, Vohu Manah, Armaiti, Khshathra, Haurvatat, Ameretat, Atar, Mithra, Sraosha, Daena and others. Whether humans named manifestations or manifestations adopted human names remains unresolved.

First Khvarenah Records

Ancient accounts describe extraordinary people associated with Khvarenah. The force appears drawn toward possibility rather than simple virtue or strength. Attempts to capture it mostly fail.

The Age of Covenants

Mithra-related phenomena become prominent as societies develop complex promises and treaties. Betrayed covenants produce Resonant consequences and traditions associated with Mithrodruj.

The Silent Centuries

Manifestations decline enough to become folklore while science and industrial civilization grow.

1908 — The Tunguska Question

Later Covenant researchers find anomalous records surrounding the event, but supernatural involvement remains explicitly inconclusive.

1945 — The Threshold Changes

Later Resonance reconstructions show a change coinciding with the nuclear age. Causation remains unknown. Zurvan cryptically says: “You noticed yourselves.”

1962 — The Night Without Echo

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, monitoring stations record eleven seconds of impossible silence. Sraosha later insists, “That isn't silence.” The event is tentatively associated with Asto Vidatu.

1979 — The Burning That Did Not Consume

Witnesses report a seven-hour fire that consumes nothing and harms nobody. Later observers associate it with Atar, who denies being present—evidence that principles can manifest independently of current characters.

1986 — The First Modern Resonance Spike

Historical data later reveals supernatural manifestations beginning an exponential increase. Farzan names the trend THE CONVERGENCE.

1990s — The Hidden Awakening

Current-era characters begin experiencing dreams, impossible intuitions, unexplained survival, strange physical effects and other subtle manifestations. Zahm begins collecting anomalous objects and the future Black Bazaar emerges.

2003 — The Kerman Incident

An archaeological excavation uncovers an artifact older than its surrounding material. Shared memories of long-dead people occur. The artifact disappears. Zam later concludes humans did not bury it. Zahm claims to know where it is.

2008 — Farzan's First Law

Dr. Farzan argues that supernatural phenomena produce measurable physical effects while following semantic rather than purely energetic structure: phenomenon follows semantic structure.

2011 — The First Wayfarer Case

A passenger train disappears from normal tracking for nine minutes while passengers experience roughly nine hours in impossible landscapes. Paykan participates in rescue; Nairyosangha arrives independently with a message for an unknown passenger. Their first encounter later becomes recognized as the first Wayfarer incident.

2013 — The Bazaar Opens

Zahm consolidates supernatural trafficking networks into THE BLACK BAZAAR, a network that temporarily becomes a physical marketplace rather than one permanent building.

2015 — The Water War / The Revelation

Apaosha attempts large-scale atmospheric-water manipulation. Tishtrya and Anahita manifest publicly. Millions witness impossible weather. The supernatural can no longer be plausibly hidden. This becomes THE REVELATION.

2016 — The Covenant Office

Following disastrous military, political and scientific responses, Shirin Mehran helps establish THE COVENANT OFFICE on the principle: “Power does not erase personhood.” The Empty Chair represents those affected by decisions but absent from the room. Farzan becomes scientific director; Paykan repeatedly refuses a desk.

2017 — Asha Appears

A mass deception event associated with Druj affects thousands. Asha manifests publicly. Asked whether he is literally the being described in ancient religion, he refuses to settle human theology.

2018 — The Ashavan Recognition

Vohu Manah, Khshathra, Armaiti, Haurvatat and Ameretat encounter one another through overlapping crises. Scholars recognize an ancient pattern. The public eventually calls the loose association the Ashavan, although they never formally become a superhero team.

2019 — The First Compact

Several adversarial beings coordinate temporarily, then betray one another. The Covenant Office coins ADVERSARIAL COMPACT for temporary cooperation among fundamentally incompatible supernatural actors.

2020 — The Quiet Year

Supernatural activity unexpectedly decreases. Chista asks Zurvan whether the Convergence is ending. He answers only: “No.”

2021 — The Dead Begin Dreaming

People worldwide dream of deceased relatives saying, “The bridge is crowded.” Sarvan appears publicly. Asto Vidatu is observed in the same period. The Covenant Office establishes a Threshold Division.

2022 — The First Mountain

Zam discovers the Black Stratum, hundreds of millions of years old, containing manufactured geometric structures. More are found. Something capable of construction existed during the First Resonance. The discovery is classified. Taromaiti learns of it anyway.

2023 — The Hunger Incident

Zahak Azaran becomes or reveals himself as Azi Dahaka. Multiple heroes survive a catastrophic encounter without permanently defeating him. Khvarenah briefly appears without a visible vessel; Azi Dahaka notices.

2024 — The Boy

Sixteen-year-old Kaveh Farrokh becomes Khvarenah's vessel. The Covenant Office confronts the legal and ethical problem of a cosmic force residing in a minor. Mehran's position: “He's sixteen. Start there.”

2025 — The Poisoned Mind

Vohu Manah encounters Dr. Cyrus Manavi/Akoman and discovers the presence of Aka Manah, raising the possibility that Akoman may be containing as well as expressing the Poisoned Mind.

2026 — The Desolation

Taromaiti conducts large-scale extraction at Resonant geological sites. Zam intervenes. Ameretat and Gavaevodata observe ecosystems behaving unnaturally. Farzan determines Taromaiti is extracting Resonance, and something beneath Earth is responding.

PRESENT DAY

The Convergence accelerates sharply. The Covenant Office is overwhelmed, the Black Bazaar is booming, Adversarial Compacts are more frequent, the Bridge remains crowded, Sraosha hears rhythm beneath impossible silence, and animals follow migration routes extinct for millions of years.

Zurvan has disappeared.

Zam discovers a door inside the Black Stratum.

It is not a machine, body or city. Geological evidence indicates it was constructed from this side.

Something on ancient Earth built it.

And sealed it.

This unresolved mystery becomes the central background thread leading into Phase One.
